Moth Smoke

Ahhh...... there's a reason I don't like cliff hangers. They leave you with your own decision to make... and I don't like that. Making decisions. I mean, I have real life decisions to make, I don't need to finish a fiction book and still be the one thinking about the right end to it.
Even though it didn't exactly finish my way [which I still have to re-think about] Moth Smoke is a very good read! For one, its written in present tense in a very eloquent style..its almost like the characters are speaking to you. It has a lot of imagery and personification..especially involving the moth attracted to the candle flame and how it directly relates to Daru. I also liked the fact that the writer has raised certain everyday issues...actually not even issues but things that we are aware of sub-conciously but don't necessarily think about them. And reading along, it makes you think about those things.... and judge, and gain knowledge... and maybe even improve. Oh and finally, its set in Lahore. [Heck, he even takes us on a trip to Heera Mandi o.o]

It's the second book which took me more than a week to read. The first one was The Da Vinci Code. This means, its not the kind of book that you can take in bed with a torch..trying to finish that last chapter and start another because you're so curious. Infact, its the kind that requires the reader to argue the situation from like three different perspectives and it requires patience ....which I clearly lack -_____-
-sigh- Filhaal, Im too annoyed 'cause of the end. Irritating. I read the last page twice thinking I might've missed something out... turned the page and it was blank. nothing more there. =( ...Maybe I'll read it again sometime. This time I'll know there is no end.
