Oh man, Papa, I miss you. I think if you read what I've been reading since yesterday, your blood would've boiled as much if not more and you know, thinking about your health situation, that wouldn't have been ideal o.o ...But I think that's also just how you were, you wouldn't have given up on people's stupidity until you ensured they understood to make an informed decision/opinion. Whereas, me, I try to a certain extent and then I just wanna' block every stupid person out and go for a walk..or just..bed.
So, PML-N got ~120 seats and will be making a government. PTI emerged as a strong running party for the first time and PPP lost like friggin'..ionno..tears in the rain lol.
LIKE YOU SAID A YEAR AGO.
And you know, I am not shocked you were right in predicting this; especially to all those PTI lovers who really thought Imran Khan would make a government this time. But like, you get I am missing you right? You weren't the person to go "ha-ha!" to people's faces to say they were wrong and you were right but man oh man, YOU WERE RIGHT. And it just reminds me over and over again how much I am gonna' miss your foresight and your wisdom, every step of the way. It makes me very uncertain about myself and just life in general.. because you're not here. Ah, look, a little lump in my throat - clears throat-..
With the kind of campaign Imran Khan ran and what not, I think everybody got emotional and short sighted and actually started thinking he'd be the next Prime Minister, totally missing the fact that he had next to no seats to begin with! There was NO friggin' chance he'd run for elections with no seats and win it, there and then. I mean, to think that, is beyond naive o-0 ...but maybe I think that way because you kept us acquainted with things and politics and the basics of how elections work. First past the post and all that jazz. Party with the maximum seats forms a government. Basic. Imran Khan had no seats prior to these elections, man. He's just building up his army, give him 5/10 years more before you start picturing him as the Prime Minister, inni. Basic. -Sighs-
Moving on to PPP, Papa man..they got battered. Seems like they figured they weren't going to win so to oppose PML-N, they voluntarily started giving up their seats for PTI candidates resulting in PTI emerging big and PPP losing more than double its seats, if not more. A few seats obviously got lost to PML-N, too. I mean, they pretty much lost all of Punjab and any seats they did get are from the rural constituencies. Uncle Gondal lost his, too. That would've hurt a little, right? =( ...Funniest was Firdos Ashiq Awan, she just literally put her hands up, Papa. Qaira and Gillani lost their seats too, and they were like big names that PPP was pretty confident about bagging the seats from. I don't think you would've been bothered about Raja Pervez losing his seat, but I mean he served as a prime minister for however short time - you would've thought he'd have some...credit? lol..maybe authority is a better word. "Credit", haha, who am I kidding. But yeah, Raja Rental sahab lost his, good riddance, I say. I mean, you knew PPP wasn't going to win a second time in the row inni..so this is probably no new information for you. You also denied everyone who said PPP won't be able to complete its tenure. YOU WERE RIGHT. First time, in the history of Pakistan an elected government completed its full term. You would've been proud of that, right? I mean, that's something you can't take away from PPP. It also shows, democracy is intact and if this isn't "Naya Pakistan" already, then I don't know what other indications one may need o.o
You know what ticks me off though; how realizing PTI hasn't won, all their supporters take on the internet calling it a "punjabi failure" and calling the nation "jaahil" and just the sheer negativity. I mean, if anything, it makes them more jaahil for not seeing PML-N won by a majority; first of all why target a specific region and secondly isn't being cultured/literate means being more tolerant and accepting? How're they any less jaahil, then, for calling their whole nation "jaahil". Damn, man. Its this mentality that hinders Pakistan's progress. Personally, I don't even think PTI lost for all that matters. To start from scratch and get 30+ seats, is an achievement. And we can rest assure, they will make a strong opposition and can still make a positive change, since "tabdeeli" is all they were rooting for. PTI supporters lack to see this isn't the end, its the start! Maybe next time they'll be smart enough to not be so over-confident and learn from thier mistakes. They need to educate the masses, because I honestly think, the rural seats PTI lost in Punjab are because those voters are scared of tabdeeli - they don't know what to expect, what this tabdeeli is all about, and so they went with tried and tested PML-N and their claims of getting rid of load shedding instead of giving PTI's tabdeeli a chance. Think of it, you're a 50 years old farmer living in a village, you get offered electricity or change, you're gonna' wanna' go for electricity, mate.
Also, talking of tabdeeli, here's a joke: What did Nawaz Shareef say to the Insaafian shopkeeper? .."It's okay, keep the change" .......oooh, burrnnn. Com'on Papa, you can't say its not a litttttle funny?

Oh Oh, almost forgot about the rigging. MQM, Papa..they had no shame whatsoever. They were showing results as they were coming from each constituency and everytime MQM would come up, you'd see MQM got ALL the votes - in thousands! - and the other candidate would have a big fat 0. I mean what, even the other candidate forgot to vote for himself?..Not even a single vote, Papa I tell you. Jiye Mutahidda! Haha.. They started calling it "karachi related technical issues" lol.. Aur main appko bataun, 5 baje tak ka time tha voting ka, the Elections Commision extended to an hour more all over Pakistan and 3 hours more in like 7 polling stations in Karachi. Phase 4 polling station mein, 7 baje tak voting hi nahi shurooh hui! The voters didn't budge! I think I also heard they held one of the voting presiding officers captive and wouldn't let him out until they got an answer. So yeah, there's gonna' be voting again in quiet a few NA-250 polling stations -rolling eyes- ..Pakistan ho, aur dhaandli na ho.. yeh tau, asking for too much huwa na.
So to sum up, Nawaz shareef won, as expected. PTI supporters make sore losers. Although, I still wouldn't say they "lost" but that's how they're behaving like. PPP is probably gonna' go in hibernation, I really don't know. Im sure Mr. Zaradari is already on some conniving plan to make a come back next time. Bilawal Bhutto really needs to spend some time in Pak and improve his Urdu and public speaking skills if he wants to lead the Bhutto party, 'cuz right now he's being a disgrace. It's gonna' be great to see PTI in opposition, Im sure Imran Khan's gonna' have a tougher stand and really get things done - here's hoping, anyway. It'd be cool to see what the outcome is from the polling stations voting again. I really hate the word "jaahil" and "masses".
YOU WERE RIGHT... And I miss you. Elections or no elections. Been missing you forever, seems like. It chokes me, more than a little, to not have you around, Papa.
