So I started reading Hearts in Atlantis like a couple of weeks ago.. finished the first story in one go and have been reading it on and off since, in between my labs. Enjoyed the first half, the second story is a bit meh..also the parts about the Vietnam war are too overwhelming. I like how King's consistently used relationships as one of the themes.. like in the first book its that of Bobby and Ted and then in the second part how Carol influences Peter..but then we find out how every choice she makes is because she's influenced by what Bobby did for her in the first part of the book... it's all pretty interesting. What's also interesting is when she says "Hearts are tough, Pete...Most times they don't break. Most times they only bend"... -sighs- ah..a little party in my head..:P
Also, this other book has been chasing me.. Fifty Shades of Grey. Now I didn't know wth it was about, but it was on yahoo first as having sold more copies than The Da Vinci Code and that's crazy. Then I went to get a notebook from Tesco for my lab scribbles 'cuz I was writing my results on bits of paper and they were everywhere..and behold, the stupid book was there, right in front of my eyes. So I picked it up to read the blurb =| ...put it straight back -rolls eyes-. The next day, I was in the Uni library just to photocopy some journals and these two girls behind me were discussing it. Like actually reviewing it. Omydays. So I was telling Joyce how this book is everywhere y'know and she goes "I've ordered it too, it better be worth it" o-0... Madness, I tell you.
Anyway, in other news.. Spain beat Portugal. Now if Italy beats Germany tonight and we get a final between Spain and Italy and Spain wins, we're all good. Too much to ask?
K. Im gonna' get back to microbiology now. ^____^
