Houston II

There's this distinct smell in the air that's consistent throughout the city. If I had to describe it, I'd say its a mixture of air-conditioned freshness/coolness combined with mens' cologne and a third subtle component that I still can't quiet put my finger on ^_^ ...I know everybody associates sweaty sweltering scents with heat, but Houston's heat is.. it's pure. You practically don't feel the humidity, probably 'cuz everything is so big and spaced out?..

The people are all so ridiculously chirpy; genuinely interested to talk to you and find out your life story.. From the taxi driver to the hotel receptionist to the guy at the T-Mobile store, who said I made him nervous when I talked. Generally, they all just seemed much nicer than how we are here - miserable and scared to talk to anyone we don't know; literally applying the stranger danger rule in all spheres of human interaction. It's a nicer place to be in, in that sense, happier and also chilled out I suppose.

To be continued..
